Terms and Policies

We design our practices with privacy and security in mind and take our duty to safeguard data seriously. We promote a culture of protecting data privacy at Render, and restrict access to data on a need-to-know basis. We only work with trusted service providers and require them to comply with our privacy and security terms.

We periodically update our terms and policies to help ensure teachers and students understand their rights and responsibilities when they participate in Render. Below are summaries of the changes.

May 2025

User Agreement

  • We updated section 2.1 about the Co-Building Opportunity Consent Form to include the key terms. They include that the Co-Builder can decline or stop participating at any time; that the co-building opportunity may be recorded but only with the Co-Builder’s consent; and that the participation should not include students’ personally identifiable information unless the relevant school has obtained the necessary consent.
  • We updated section 2.3 about limitations of Render tools, including the fact that to the extent a Render tool is based on or supported by a third-party platform, the tool or feature is subject to that third party’s terms and conditions.
  • We updated section 2.4 about Feedback and Confidentiality to clarify that CZI will delete and/or de-identify Feedback, and that CZI may use such de-identified Feedback without restrictions. However, CZI may not share Feedback for marketing or sales purposes without obtaining additional consent.

January 2025

User Agreement

  • We updated the definition of “school” to include school districts, not only schools.
  • We updated our mailing address.

Privacy Policy and Data Privacy Addendum

  • We fixed typos, such as references to the User Agreement or the Addendum.

Direct Notice to Educational Institutions

We updated the notice so it consistently refers to student personal information.
